There are quite a few tools that you can pick from to automate and schedule Crystal Reports. We, of course, are very proud of our Crystal Reports scheduling tool, remiCrystal. Not only is it light and easy to use, it is also very reliable and powerful. We, however, acknowledge that it might not fulfill some needs that some users have. [Read more…]
What is the Difference Between Crystal Reports and SSRS Reports
When users are faced with reporting software options, there will most likely have to decide whether to go with SAP’s Crystal Reports or Microsoft’s SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) Reports.
At remiWare, we have extensive experience working with both Crystal Reports and SSRS Reports. We have built hundreds of reports using both tools and integrated them into remiCrystal. It is with this understanding that we feel we can help in deciphering the major differences between the two reporting platforms. [Read more…]
Building HTML Tables from a SQL Dataset in remiCrystal
Sometimes, creating an entire report can be overly complicated and time consuming. There are indeed times when all you need is just a basic HTML table with your data embedded in an email or HTML document.
In remiCrystal, you can bypass the entire report creation and configuration process and just use your SQL query to create an HTML table that can be used in one or more tasks. You can even style it with your CSS scripts.
Here is a short video that shows exactly how to do that.
Bursting a Crystal Report in remiCrystal
Do you have a single Crystal Report that you would like split up by Group and have each one sent to a different recipient? remiCrystal’s Crystal Report bursting feature couldn’t be simpler to set up.
The steps involved include:
- checking the box to state that you would like to enable report bursting. Tasks with report bursting can only contain one report.
- adding the Crystal Report file and specifying the name of the field that is used by your report’s Group Header 1 (GH1)
- optionally, you can specify to only burst for certain group values
- you can add a target and then populate it with fields from your Crystal Report. For example, if your Crystal Report contains an email address for the group value, it can be used in the email target.

Solving The “Load Report Failed” Error
Crystal Reports – Load Report Failed Error

In that time, we know that if you use an application that utilizes the SAP/Business Objects Crystal Reports Runtime Library for Microsoft .NET then chances are that you have come across the dreaded “Load Report Failed” error before. This is very common when the application is used to schedule Crystal Reports.
